Acne Scars & Texture

Acne scars and rough texture can last years after the breakouts stop. We use the Aerolase Neo laser over a series of sessions to help skin look smoother, alongside a good home routine.

BeforeAfter

Usually 6 to 8 sessions, all skin types, little to no downtime. Photos courtesy of Aerolase. Results vary.

How it works

Generally, each session takes 20 to 30 minutes. The laser never touches your skin, so there is no gel and most people don’t need numbing. Afterward, most people go straight back to their day.

Sessions are spaced 3 to 4 weeks apart. Texture improves gradually and keeps improving for a few weeks after your last visit.

Keeping breakouts under control matters, since new acne can mean new scars.

Questions

Can scars be removed completely?

Usually not. The realistic goal is smoother, less noticeable scarring.

Which scars respond best?

It depends on the type. Pitted, raised and discolored scars each respond differently, and we’ll look at yours at the consultation.

Can it treat active acne too?

Yes. The Aerolase Neo is FDA-cleared for acne, and we’ll plan timing if you have both.

Should I keep using my retinoid?

Usually, yes. Retinoids often help between sessions, and your provider will tell you how to time them.
