Website Practices
This page is the plain-English version of how our website works behind the scenes. It tells you what tools we use, what each one does, what data flows where, and how to turn things off. It is meant to be read by a person, not a lawyer. The longer, more formal version lives in our Privacy Policy.
If you ever want to know what is happening when you visit skinrr.com, this is the page to look at. We try to keep it accurate. If you spot something that seems wrong or out of date, please let us know at privacy@skinrr.com.
What this page is for
Most websites use a handful of third-party tools — analytics, advertising pixels, accessibility widgets, embedded videos, chat — to do their job. Each of those tools communicates with its own servers when you load a page. That is normal, and it is how the modern web works. But we think you should know what we use and what each one does, so you can make an informed choice about your privacy settings.
This page lists every third-party tool currently installed on skinrr.com, in plain language. Each entry says what the tool does, what categories of data it collects, who provides it, and how to opt out of that specific tool. If you want a one-click opt-out for everything we are not required to run, use the cookie banner that appeared when you first visited the site — you can reopen it any time using the "Cookie Preferences" link in the footer.
Categories of tools we use
Every tool on this site falls into one of the following five categories. The first category is on by default and cannot be turned off — the site won't work without it. The other four are off by default unless you accept them in our cookie banner.
The full list of tools we use
This is the current inventory of third-party tools running on skinrr.com. Each one is described below. If you have questions about any of them, write to privacy@skinrr.com.
Google Analytics 4
— Analytics- What it does
- Counts page views, measures how long visitors spend on each page, and shows us which content is being read.
- What it collects
- A pseudonymous client identifier (random ID stored in a cookie), IP address (truncated for EU traffic), device and browser, referring URL, pages viewed, time on page, and events such as button clicks and form submissions.
- Where it goes
- Google LLC, processed in the U.S. and other regions per Google's data-processing terms.
- How to opt out
- Decline Analytics in our cookie banner, install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on, or block analytics cookies in your browser settings.
- Vendor policy
- policies.google.com/privacy
UserWay accessibility widget
— Accessibility- What it does
- Provides accessibility features — text resizing, contrast adjustments, cursor enhancements, link highlighting, keyboard navigation, and screen-reader support — for visitors with disabilities.
- What it collects
- The URL of the page being viewed (so the widget can deliver page-appropriate accessibility data), device and browser, and which accessibility features you turn on. UserWay describes the data flow as functionally necessary to deliver the accessibility service.
- Where it goes
- UserWay Inc., processed in the U.S.
- How to opt out
- The accessibility widget is on by default because removing it would create barriers for visitors with disabilities. If you would prefer not to use it, you can ignore the widget icon — features only activate when you turn them on.
- Vendor policy
- userway.org/privacy
Meta Pixel (Facebook)
— Marketing- What it does
- Measures the effectiveness of Skin R&R advertising on Facebook and Instagram by recording when visitors who saw an ad later take an action on our site — viewing a service page, starting a contact form, or submitting an inquiry.
- What it collects
- IP address, device and browser, page viewed, button or form actions ("events"), and a pixel ID tied to your Facebook session if you are logged in. Forms data is hashed before transmission where applicable.
- Where it goes
- Meta Platforms, Inc., processed in the U.S. and other regions.
- How to opt out
- Decline Marketing in our cookie banner. Adjust your Facebook ad preferences at facebook.com/adpreferences. Install a tracker-blocking browser extension.
- Vendor policy
- facebook.com/privacy/policy
Google Tag Manager
— Required- What it does
- A container that loads other tags listed on this page (Analytics, Marketing pixels). Tag Manager itself does not collect personal information; it loads the other tools based on your consent choices.
- What it collects
- Nothing by itself. It loads child tags only after consent is granted for the relevant category.
- Where it goes
- Google LLC.
- How to opt out
- Cannot be turned off — but the tags it loads are turned off until you give consent.
- Vendor policy
- policies.google.com/privacy
Google Fonts
— Functional- What it does
- Delivers the typefaces used in the Skin R&R brand (Cormorant Garamond and Inter) so that pages render correctly on your device.
- What it collects
- IP address and basic browser information at the moment the font is requested. Google states it does not use Fonts requests to build user profiles or for advertising.
- Where it goes
- Google LLC.
- How to opt out
- Cannot be turned off without breaking the visual design of the site. If this matters to you, your browser's tracker-blocking features will block the requests at the cost of fallback typography.
- Vendor policy
- developers.google.com/fonts/faq/privacy
Embedded video (YouTube / Vimeo, where present)
— Functional- What it does
- Allows us to embed video content into our pages. Video providers may set cookies once a video begins to load.
- What it collects
- Depends on the provider. Typically includes IP, device, watched duration, and (if you are signed in) account-level information tied to the platform.
- Where it goes
- YouTube (Google LLC) or Vimeo Inc., depending on the embed.
- How to opt out
- Decline Functional in our cookie banner. For YouTube specifically, we use "privacy-enhanced mode" embeds where supported, which delays cookie placement until video playback begins.
- Vendor policy
- YouTube privacy policy · Vimeo privacy policy
Tools we have considered but are not using
For transparency, the following tools are sometimes installed on websites in our industry but are not currently installed on skinrr.com:
- Session replay / heatmap tools (e.g., Microsoft Clarity, FullStory, Hotjar) — we are not running any session-replay or visitor-recording tool on the corporate site at this time.
- Live chat with conversational AI — if a chat tool is added later, it will appear in the list above with a description of what it captures.
- Cross-site tracking pixels beyond Meta — we are not running TikTok Pixel, LinkedIn Insight, Pinterest tag, or similar at this time.
If anything in this list changes, we will update both this section and the inventory above. The "Last verified" date at the top reflects when we last audited the tracker list against what is actually deployed.
Other browser-level controls
In addition to our cookie banner, you have several broader tools available:
- Block third-party cookies in your browser settings (available in Chrome, Safari, Firefox, Edge, and most others).
- Use a privacy-focused browser such as Brave or Firefox with Enhanced Tracking Protection enabled.
- Install a content blocker such as uBlock Origin or Privacy Badger.
- Send a Global Privacy Control signal through your browser. We treat valid GPC signals as a request to opt out of the sharing of personal information for California residents.
