of visible skin aging is caused by sun exposure.
UV damage is the leading cause of premature aging, hyperpigmentation, and skin cancer. Daily SPF is the single most evidence-based step you can take for your skin — more than any serum, treatment, or procedure.
EltaMD, explained.
Your provider will pair you with the right EltaMD at your consultation.
What's the difference between chemical and mineral SPF?
Chemical SPF (UV Clear, UV Daily, UV Sport) absorbs UV light and is typically lighter on the skin. Mineral SPF (UV Elements, UV Physical) sits on top and reflects UV — better for very sensitive skin.
Can I wear EltaMD under makeup?
Yes. Most clients find UV Clear and UV Daily layer cleanly under foundation.
How often should I reapply?
Every 2 hours when outdoors, after sweating heavily, or after swimming.
Is mineral better for sensitive skin?
For many sensitive and rosacea-prone clients, yes.
Can I use EltaMD while pregnant?
Mineral formulations are typically the safer choice during pregnancy. Discuss with your OB.
Does it work for darker skin tones?
Yes. Tinted formulas avoid the white cast that plain mineral SPFs can leave on deeper skin tones.
