Is the treatment safe for darker skin tones?
The Aerolase Neo is FDA-cleared for use on all Fitzpatrick skin types (I–VI), including melanin-rich skin. Its short 650-microsecond pulse is designed to minimize the heat-related side effects that can be a concern with some traditional treatments. Any treatment risks specific to your skin will be reviewed during your complimentary consultation.
Will the scar disappear completely?
Scars are established changes to the skin. Complete elimination is generally not realistic; meaningful support of appearance — color, texture, feel — is the realistic goal.
What kinds of scars can be treated?
Mature scars from injury, surgery, burns, and acne can all be considered. Type, age, and location all matter. Your consultation includes an assessment of what's appropriate for your specific scar.
Does the treatment hurt?
Most clients describe the sensation as a series of brief, warm pulses. The treatment is contactless and doesn't typically require numbing, though sensitivity varies. If you have particularly sensitive skin, let your provider know during the consultation and they'll adjust the protocol.
How old should the scar be before treatment?
Most scars need time to heal naturally before laser treatment is appropriate — typically months at minimum. Your consultation will assess timing.
Can I use my scar cream during treatment?
Most scar creams are compatible with treatment. Some — particularly silicone-based products — actively support results. Your provider will give specific guidance.
