Quiet the spots. Reveal the skin.

Age spots — sometimes called solar lentigines or liver spots — are concentrated patches of pigment left behind by years of sun exposure. The Aerolase Neo targets that pigment directly, fading the spots over a small number of sessions in most cases.

— Our Approach

Spots, gently lifted.

Age spots respond well to short-pulse laser energy — and well-defined, isolated spots often clear in fewer sessions than diffuse pigmentation.

— The Technology

650 microseconds of precision.

The Aerolase Neo's 650-microsecond pulse is short enough to target pigment without overheating surrounding tissue. The spot absorbs the energy; the skin around it is largely untouched.

It's contactless. No cooling gel, no anesthetic — and for discrete spots on areas like the back of the hands or the face, sessions tend to be quick.

— What It May Help

What it supports.

  • May reduce the appearance of sun-induced age spots and lentigines
  • Targets concentrated pigment with minimal effect on surrounding skin
  • FDA-cleared for benign pigmented lesions on Fitzpatrick skin types I–VI
  • Suitable for face, hands, chest, and other sun-exposed areas
  • Pairs well with broad-spectrum daily sun protection
  • Most clients see meaningful change in just one to three sessions

— What to Expect

A clear path.

Most clients see significant fading of age spots within just a few sessions.

01

— Consultation

Free assessment.

Your esthetician reviews your skin, history, medications, and goals. You'll leave with a treatment plan, an honest timeline, and clear pricing — no pressure.

02

— Treatment

In-office sessions.

Each Aerolase session typically runs 20–30 minutes. The treatment is contactless and most clients return to their day right after, with little to no downtime.

03

— Series

One to three visits.

Sessions are spaced 2–4 weeks apart. Well-defined age spots often respond after a single session, with continued darkening and flaking off in the days that follow.

04

— Maintenance

Stay protected.

Daily broad-spectrum SPF is essential to prevent new spots from forming. Periodic touch-up sessions help address any new pigment that develops.

— Common Questions

Good questions. Simple answers.

If you don't see your question here, our team is happy to answer it during your free consultation.

Is the treatment safe for darker skin tones?
The Aerolase Neo is FDA-cleared for use on all Fitzpatrick skin types (I–VI), including melanin-rich skin. Its short 650-microsecond pulse is designed to minimize the heat-related side effects that can be a concern with some traditional treatments. Any treatment risks specific to your skin will be reviewed during your complimentary consultation.
How quickly will the spots fade?
After treatment, age spots often darken briefly before lightening over the following days as the pigment is processed by the body. Many clients see meaningful results after one to three sessions, though individual response varies.
Can age spots come back?
The treated spots typically don't return, but new spots can develop with continued sun exposure. Daily SPF and protective habits are the most effective way to keep results in place.
Does the treatment hurt?
Most clients describe the sensation as a series of brief, warm pulses. The treatment is contactless and doesn't typically require numbing, though sensitivity varies. If you have particularly sensitive skin, let your provider know during the consultation and they'll adjust the protocol.
Can I treat spots on my hands and chest, not just my face?
Yes. The Aerolase Neo can be used on the face, hands, chest, arms, and other sun-exposed areas where age spots commonly appear.
Is there any downtime?
Most clients return to their day right after a session. You may see brief redness or warmth in the treated area for a few hours. Specific aftercare instructions will be provided based on your treatment.
